How we started



In 2019 Janille Otts and her three children began offering nonperishable food items on a little red stand from their front porch. Janille started reaching out on fb to various local groups to solicit additional items from others wanting to help. Over time others joined her and decided to start a non-profit giving more people in the community the opportunity to help their neighbors in need.





Moving Forward



Community Helpers Organization,

a 501(c)(3) corporation,

was started in 2020.


With support from the community,

CHO began assisting with utilities,

rent and other necessities.
